Social Good Champions

Social Good Champions are individuals who are changing our community—even when hosting a party. These Champions have Social Good events—parties with a purpose—to raise funds for YWCA Moncton programs and services that directly affect women and girls in our community. Social Good Champions, we cannot thank you enough for thinking of our mission, our vision, and our work even as you kick back with friends and family. Our work simply would not be possible without individuals like you.

Heather MacKenzie
Every year, the all-women Champagne & Chocolate social group that Heather MacKenzie belongs to gathers donations for a worthy cause at their special Christmas gathering. In December 2013 and 2014, Heather hosted this gathering and proposed the group donate to YWCA Moncton this year, and her guests readily agreed. As they toasted to good health and happiness, members of this group also contributed to the wellbeing of women and girls in our community.

Tammy Keiver & Sandra Foreman
In 2012, Tammy and Sandra were inspired by our Young Women’s Collective’s celebration of Galentine’s Day—a new take on Valentine’s Day in which friendships amongst women are celebrated rather than (or in addition to) romantic partnerships—and decided to host their own Galentine’s Day event for the women in their lives. Tammy and Sandra requested donations for the YWCA in place of hostess gifts for their evening of food and laughter.

Nicole Robichaud
In 2012, Nicole hosted a summer gathering for YW staff at her home in Dieppe. Between full hearty laughs, delicious food, and some karaoke (by the braver members of our team), funds were also raised for the YW.
